Toss and Catch - Video
In this video, children will toss and catch activity/juggling scarves. “Toss and Catch” is suggested in the “Managing Movement” ChildcareAlive! activity, and can be an extension of “Paint Your Bubble.”
Activity scarves are great items for children to use during gross motor play, because they can practice throwing with minimal risk of causing damage in the child care environment.
This is another activity that uses music to start and stop the movement. Tell children the “when” before the “what” – “When you hear the music, toss your scarf up in the air and catch it!” As children toss and catch their scarf, remind them to stay in their bubble.
