Trying New Foods
Children are more likely to try new foods if they have the opportunity to become more familiar with new foods. One way to do this is by repeated exposures through sensory exploration, including touching, smelling, squeezing, and taking a very small taste of a new food.
In this activity, children will participate in making a recipe and will describe the smell, texture, color, and taste of a new food. (Kiwi is used in this activity plan, but you may use other fruits or veggies that may be new to your children).
